Praveen Madan is one of the leading independent booksellers and literary event producers in the SF Bay Area. He is the co-owner of Booksmith and Berkeley Arts & Letters, and leader of the Kepler's 2020 initiative which is pioneering a new open-sourced model for building the community bookstore of the future. Since entering the bookselling field five years ago, Praveen has become one of the most innovative and nationally recognized leaders in reinventing bookselling and literary communities. He draws on two decades of management experience as an executive and consultant to leading companies in the Silicon Valley high-tech world and a life-long passion for good books. Praveen was elected as the chair of the Berrett-Koehler Publishers board in 2017.
